Lockheed Martin asked Jon Milavec to Direct and act as DP on a four-day training video shoot. The goal was to show new employees on the F-22 fighter jet production line why safety is of the utmost importance. Directing the two actors, two cameras and small grip and lighting crew for this shoot was a lot of fun. And getting a true insiders look at what it takes to actually assemble a multi-million dollar fighter jet is pretty cool too. Something to know for others who might find themselves shooting on a large production line someday; the production schedule of the facility dictates what and where you shoot. On a few occasions, our schedule changed in an instant, because of something that happened somewhere else on the line. That makes it a little stressful, but as long as you and your crew are flexible and willing to go with the flow, it’s no big deal.
